Kilmarnock Shopmobility

Kilmarnock Shopmobility will be open as usual during the demolition of the Multi Storey Car Park 


 

Kilmarnock Shopmobility is located within the Kilmarnock Bus Station.

This is a free service which enables easy access to the shopping and leisure facilities within the town centre and is available to anyone with a temporary or permanent mobility problem.

Service users can make use of manual wheelchairs, which are subject to a £20 deposit, or powered scooters.

Book in advance

Whilst we try to accommodate on the day walk in requests subject to availability, it is advisable to book to ensure the necessary equipment is available when needed.

New members are advised to call in advance to ensure that all paperwork can be completed prior to equipment hire.

Changing Places Toilets

 

East Ayrshire Council has a dedicated spacious Changing Places Toilet with specialised equipment for people with disabilities within Kilmarnock Bus Station, the first of its kind in Scotland. These specialised toilets have more space and include equipment such as a height-adjustable changing bench, a peninsular toilet and a ceiling hoist.

Over a quarter of a million people in the UK require Changing Places Toilets to be able to go out and participate in everyday activities that many of us take for granted. For more information visit Changing Places.

To use the Changing Places Toilet please visit Shopmobility where you will be asked to register, once registered you will be issued with a personalised fob.
