South Ayrshire Council (Various Roads, Dundonald) (20mph, 30mph & 40mph Speed Limit) (Amendments & Revocations) Order 2022

(Ayrshire Roads Alliance) A Partnership between East Ayrshire Council and South Ayrshire Council as partner Local Authorities for the Ayrshire Local Plan District, advise that the Order which comes into force on Thursday 5 May 2022 was advertised in the Ayrshire Post on 25 November 2020 and the effect of the Order is as stated in said notice that being to implement new speed limits on the following lengths of road:

20mph Speed Limit

Drybridge Road: Main Street: For its entire length;

B750 Kilmarnock Road: From Drybridge Road/Main Street, eastwards for 363 metres;

Old Loans Road: From Tarbolton Road/Main Street, south-westwards for 413 metres;

B730 Tarbolton Road: From Old Loans Road/Main Street, eastwards for 400 metres.

30mph Speed Limit

B730 Tarbolton Road: From 400 metres east of Old Loans Road/Main Street, eastwards for 100 metres;

Old Loans Road: From 413 metres southwest of Tarbolton Road/Main Street, south-westwards for 100 metres;

B750 Kilmarnock Road: From 363 metres east of Drybridge Road/Main Street, eastwards for 158 metres.

Other existing 20mph speed limits on the entire lengths of:

Auchans Avenue;

Auchans Drive;

Beaton Lane;

Bruce Avenue;

Castle Drive;

Castleview;

Coats Place;

Cochrane Avenue;

Cochrane Drive;

Earl Crescent;

Earl Drive;

Earl Mount;

Earl Rise;

Fullarton Avenue;

Gulliland Avenue;

Kilnford Crescent;

Kilnford Drive;

Laurieston Court;

Lochside Court;

Merkland Park;

Merkland Place;

Newfield Place;

Old Auchans View;

Parkthorn View;

Richmond Terrace;

School Wynd;

Stuart Place;

Vernon Place;

Wallace Avenue;

Warly Drive;

Warly Place;

Wilson Place:

for their entire lengths and a length of 40mph speed limit on A759 Troon to Kilmarnock Road: From 50 metres west of A759 / Kilnford Drive, to 310 metres east of A759/B730 a distance of 712 metres; have been incorporated into this Order for ease of reference with no changes made to these existing restrictions.
Gateways, hard engineering traffic calming measures and road markings should assist in making the speed limit self-enforcing to aid enforcement.
