Ayr Residents Parking Permit

If you live within Ayr then you may be eligible for a Resident's Parking Permit.

There are two distinct types of permit available depending on where you live.

 

Type A: Available to residents of streets within the area of the town centre in which parking is Pay and Display.

Type B: Available to residents of street designated as Residents Only. 

 

Ayr Town Centre - Residents Parking Permit - Type A

A Type A permit is available to residents of pay and display streets within the area of the town centre and allow a vehicle to be parked without limit on the length of stay.

Type A Residents Parking permits are only valid within specified areas of the town centre. The specified areas are known as “Sub-Zones” and are clearly marked on the permit indicating which streets your permit would be valid.

The permit can only be used when parking in a marked parking bay. It does not entitle the holder to park on double yellow lines or any other such waiting or loading restriction.

You may apply for one permit for each vehicle you own. 

The replacement of permit for a change of vehicle or vehicle registration is subject to a £5.00 administration fee.

The permit can only be used when parking in a marked parking bay within the street(s) it is valid for.

It does not entitle the holder to park in areas covered by waiting or loading restrictions or in bays designated for a particular purpose e.g. disabled bay. 

If you live close to the boundary between two sub zones and would prefer your permit to be valid in the adjoining sub zone you may be eligible for a change in sub zone (Please note that such requests are only granted in exceptional cases, such as where the closest parking spaces in the adjoining sub zone are nearer the applicant’s home than those in the applicant’s own sub zone)

Ayr - Residents Parking Permit - Type B

If you live within a residential premise which appears on the valuation roll in a street designated as Residents Only you can apply for a Type B  Permit, this permit allows residents only to park their on the street named on the permit during the part of the day in which parking.           

Each residence that appears on the valuation roll is entitled to a maximum of 2 permits. 

The permit(s) can be used on any vehicle connected with the resident and, if necessary, can be given to visitors for the duration of their visit.
