Before applying for an East Ayrshire car park permit please ensure you have read and understood the terms and conditions.

Terms and conditions

Ayrshire Roads Alliance shall issue a virtual car park permit subject to the following conditions;

  • The application shall be submitted in writing using the online application form;
  • For each car park permit issued the applicant shall pay the fee specified in the Type of Car Park Permit and Charges section of the application form;
  • The car park permit shall be valid from the date of processing, depending on when the application is received, and for a duration dependent on the information given on the application form and the fee received.
  • A car park permit shall not guarantee the use of a parking bay within the car park to which it applies. In circumstances where the driver is unable to park in their nominated car park selected at application, the driver should park in an alternative location and comply with all underlying parking restrictions, including making payment for the duration of their stay, where applicable.

Displaying and using your car park permit

A virtual car park permit shall be issued for the vehicle registration for which it is intended for the chosen car park. All other car parking regulations must be adhered to.

A car park permit shall;

  • Be used only on the vehicle for which it was issued and which bears the same registration mark as the virtual permit, unless previously notified to parking office in case of vehicles being “off the road” due to accident or breakdown (except in the case of a joint application);
  • Be used only in parking places within the car park stated on the permit;
  • Remain the property of Ayrshire Roads Alliance.

Joint applications

In the case of car-pooling arrangements, a car park permit can be shared between vehicles provided an application form is completed for each vehicle in which the car park permit shall be used.

Any of the listed vehicles found parked without the car park permit displayed shall receive a Penalty Charge Notice which will not be cancelled.

Application forms should be submitted together and clearly marked “joint application”.

Withdrawing, expired and renewing permits

The Council may, by giving 28 days’ notice in writing to the permit holder at the address given on the application form, withdraw a car park permit.

All parking renewal applications must be received by the Parking Office 5 working days prior to the expiry of the existing permit. No reminder service is offered by the Parking Office and by applying timeously, this ensures continuous coverage.

Any Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs) issued between the expiry of an existing permit and a renewal application being submitted may not be cancelled as it is the responsibility of any driver to park in compliance with underlying parking restrictions.

Applications to renew car park permits may be submitted not more than three weeks prior to the expiry date of the existing permit. The new permit will be issued on receipt of the appropriate paperwork and payment.

If at any time you wish to cancel your car park permit, refunds can only be offered for every full month remaining of the original terms of your permit, with a £10.00 administration fee deducted. All refunds must be organised through the Parking Office by contacting ara.parking@ayrshireroadsalliance.org

Payment for submitted applications can only be made by credit or debit card (excluding American Express). Once an application form is submitted a member of the Parking Office will call on the contact details provide to arrange payment.
