Skip Permit

The Roads (Scotland) Act 1984 states that skips placed on any public road require a skip permit.

It is the responsibility of the Skip Hire company providing the skip to obtain this permit, and pay the permit fee. 

To obtain a skip permit for the A76, A77 or A78 Trunk Roads, you should contact Amey who operate and maintain the trunk road network in the South West of Scotland on behalf of Transport Scotland

Cost

East Ayrshire - Skip Permit £47 (per four weeks)

South Ayrshire - Skip Permit £52.50 (per four weeks)

Before considering an application Ayrshire Roads Alliance must have received all the required supporting documentation before the application is considered lodged.

An obstruction cannot be placed on a public road without the permission of Ayrshire Roads Alliance for further information read the Skip Permit - Terms and Conditions.
