Temporary Traffic Signal Permit

If you wish to erect a set of portable traffic signals on the public road in East or South Ayrshire then you must apply for a portable traffic signal permit.


Temporary Traffic Signals for Utility Company works (2 way and not at junction)  £0 
Temporary Traffic Signals for non Utility Company works (2 way and not at junction) £119 
Temporary Traffic Signals up to 30 days (3 way or more) £119 
Temporary Traffic Signals 31 - 90 days (3 way or more)  £176


Before considering an application Ayrshire Roads Alliance must have received all the required supporting documentation before the application is considered lodged.

It is in the public interest that the Ayrshire Roads Alliance must process your application before it can be granted.

An obstruction cannot be placed on a public road without the permission of Ayrshire Roads Alliance.

We would expect to process your application within 5 working days. If you have not heard from us within a reasonable period, please contact us.
