Temporary traffic signal permit

If you wish to erect a set of portable traffic signals on the public road in East or South Ayrshire then you must apply for a portable traffic signal permit.

You can download a paper copy of the Portable Traffic Signal Application or read the conditions and apply below.

  • Section A
    Application for the use of Portable Traffic Signals
  • Request permission from the Roads Authority for the use of 2 way portable light signals and to request confirmation that specific site approval is NOT required
  • Apply to the Roads Authority for portable light signal site approval (where a junction is involved)
  • Request a portable light signal design and approval
