Sweco - A70 Ayr to Cumnock Improvements

Ayrshire Roads Alliance on behalf of South Ayrshire and East Ayrshire Councils have appointed Sweco as Lead Consultant to undertake a review of potential improvements that could be made to improve the A70 transport corridor from Cumnock to Ayr.

Guided by the following goals:

• Enhancing the quality of life in towns and villages along these roads by redirecting traffic
• Reducing the number of collisions in which people have been killed or seriously injured
• Improve sustainable transport opportunities
• Improving overtaking opportunities and  decreasing the likelihood of vehicle platooning

Sweco will work in close collaboration with both authorities to collect data on the existing issues and present potential options to improve the strategic link.
