As part of the on going works on the A70 Glenbuck Road Realignment it will be necessary to close the road at Glenbuck Loch from Monday 26th November for up to two weeks to construct a replacement culvert for the River Ayr.
The closure is necessary due to the complexity of this operation in poor ground conditions and to maintain a safe environment for the travelling public and the contractor’s operatives.
The diversion route, which will be signed, will be via the B743 to Strathaven, A71 to roundabout east of Stonehouse then B7078 south via Blackwood and Lesmahagow to roundabout junction with the A70 and rejoin A70 route. Traffic from the east will be diverted along the same route in reverse.
Your patience during this culvert replacement will be appreciated, should you have any concerns regarding the works or the diversion please contact either
Ayrshire Roads Alliance on 01563 503160 or
RJ McLeod (contractors) on 07881 813656 to discuss any problems you may have during this diversion.
