Roadworks – B7038 High Glencairn Street and Campbell Street
Thu, 02 Jun 2016
On Sunday 5 June, the Ayrshire Roads Alliance will be carrying out essential resurfacing works on the B7038 at High Glencairn Street and Campbell Street in Kilmarnock as part of an extensive improvement programme.
Due to the limited carriageway widths available it will be necessary, in order to maintain the safety of both the travelling public and the workforce, to close High Glencarin Street to northbound traffic from 16:00 on Sunday 5 June and again from 18:00 from Monday 6 June until Thursday 9 June. The road will reopen fully at 06:00 each morning.
There will be no access to High Glencairn Street from West Netherton Street and James Little Street during the works, with appropriate diversions in place.
From Friday 10 June work on Campbell Street will be carried out under convoy working.
Again work will start at 18:00 each weekday and 16:00 at the weekend, with the road opening fully each morning.
It is anticipated that the works will be finished for Thursday 16 June.
There will be no access to Campbell Street from Holmquarry Road and Old Street during the works. Diversions will be in place.
Emergency vehicles will have priority access at all times.
All business within the limits of the works will be open as usual.
The Ayrshire Roads Alliance, on behalf of East Ayrshire Council, apologises in advance for the inconvenience these essential works will cause both to through traffic and to the residents locally.
