A70 roadworks and road closure near Ochiltree

The Ayrshire Roads Alliance, as part of its ongoing programme to improve the condition of the road network, will be carrying out essential road resurfacing works on the A70 near Ochiltree between the C61 junction and Burnock Bridge from Monday 1 December 2014 for up to 2 weeks.
This £100,000 project, which is weather dependent, will involve, kerbing, footway resurfacing, carriageway resurfacing and renewing road markings.
To ensure the safety of the roads operatives and the travelling public the following traffic management system will be in operation during the works:
Preparatory works will be carried out on week days, Monday to Friday and a convoy system and/or two way temporary traffic signals will be in operation during this period and delays are possible.
The A70 will be closed, to complete the final surface course, on Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 December 2014 from 08.00 until 18.00.
A diversion route will be signed from the A70 at Dettingen Roundabout Cumnock to A76 Templeton Roundabout, Auchinleck turning right onto the B7083 Mauchline Road, Auchinleck, turning right on to the C62 Pennylands Road, turning right on to the B7036 Barony Road, before re-joining the A70 at Ochiltree and vice versa.
Please allow sufficient time when planning your journey as some delays will be inevitable. Advisory signs will be erected in advance of the works to alert the travelling public.
