Roadworks A713 Dalmellington and A70 Lugar

The resurfacing of the A713 south of Dalmellington will be completed this weekend as part of the Ayrshire Roads Alliance’s planned Structural Maintenance Programme to improve the condition of roads throughout East Ayrshire.
The road will be closed from the A713 south of Dalmellington, between the U759 Loch Doon Road and the East Ayrshire, Dumfries and Galloway boundary, from 05:00 on Saturday 19 July until 24:00 on Sunday 20 July, or until the works are complete whichever is earliest.
Signed diversions will be in place via A713, A702, A76, B741 and vice versa.
On Monday 21 July essential road resurfacing works will start on the A70 at Lugar from the Lugar Water Bridge to the C23 Peesweep Brae.
This project will last for up to seven days and will involve removing the existing surface and resurfacing a 700m length of road and renewing all road markings.
Preparatory works will be carried out between Monday 21 July and Friday 25 July. A convoy system and temporary traffic signals will be in operation and delays are possible.
The A70 at Lugar will be closed to complete the final resurfacing works on Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 July. A signed diversion will be in place via C23 Peesweep Brae/ Rigg Road, B7083 Auchinleck Road before rejoining the A70 at Cumnock and vice versa.
